WHY WE GIVE
Paul & Candace
From Paul & Candace Fuchs
Rowing has been a consistent theme
throughout our lives. Rowing as a teenager, Paul
expanded his world from Michigan to the East coast
and then to Europe. As a 100 pound freshman rowing with
the nascent Tufts crew, Candace realized her athletic self for the
first time. National teams have opened doors for each of us. Through
rowing at New York Athletic Club we made lifelong friends, including
each other. Paul’s involvement with US Rowing and FISA have allowed
him to take leadership roles in the rowing community. As new residents
to Old Lyme, CT, we have forged more friendships through the sport,
and now enjoy coaching for Blood Street Sculls. Rowing has been
instrumental in who we are, and how we live. For the most part, we give
back to the sport through action, activities and leadership but we do
realize the critical importance of the NRF and providing some consistent
financial support seems only natural.
